Join us giving thousands of tribal children the gift of early childhood education!

Our goal is to transform over 200 Anganwadi's and approximately 10000 children in the Tribal sub-district of Mokhada.

This means that you can provide early childhood education for one child for as little as Rs.250/- a month OR you can provide early childhood education for 10 children for only Rs.2500/- a month.

Grameen First in partnership with the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) aims to revamp the education methodology for preschool learning in tribal Mokhada. Currently, the rural tribal child lacks the educational tools in the existing system to successfully grasp the concepts taught in grade 1 (Std. 1). This has a devastating domino effect on their education in the years to come. Children aged 6 months to 6 years  are at a crucial stage in their lives for their physical, mental and emotional development. Transformation is possible by enhanching the skills of the teacher, providing educational and fun games and activities and encouraging creativity and curiosity among preschool children.

Grameen First with your support will provide;

  1. Monthly meeting and trainings for the Preschool teachers on the syllabus
  2. Educational materials and games to all preschools
  3. Daily monitoring of the Angan wadi sevika’s progress
  4. Monthly tests as per the skill levels of the children
  5. Quarterly reports to be shared with the related Government departments and also with any donors or funders of the project.

The implementation strategy is based on a strong partnership with 2 important government departments; Education Department along with the District Institute for Education and Training (DIET) and the Integrated Child Development Scheme under the Women and Child Department.

Grameen First Development Foundation is hopeful to carve a path to changing this to a better and brighter future for the tribal village children of Mokhada in Palghar – Maharashtra, India. We would be thrilled if you joined us in this journey today!
